The Warrior's Path — Why a Kung Fu Teacher Made an Album
Today I'm releasing something I never planned to make: an album.
Eleven tracks of cinematic warrior music. Taiko drums, orchestra, the kind of sound that belongs to a sunrise over mountains. It's called The Warrior's Path, and before I tell you what's on it, I owe you the honest answer to the obvious question — why is a kung fu teacher releasing music?
The problem I couldn't teach my way out of
I've spent many years teaching martial arts. And after all those years, one observation stands above everything else I've learned in a training hall.
It's not talent that separates the people who transform from the people who don't. It's not strength, and it's not age. Almost everyone who walks through my door already knows what they should do. Very few keep doing it.
That gap — between knowing and doing — is the real opponent. I've watched strong, intelligent people quit three weeks in, and I've watched ordinary people become unrecognizable in a year, simply because they kept showing up on the days it was hardest.
Technique, I can teach. Programs, I can write. But the moment that decides everything happens when nobody is watching: early morning, alone, the moment before you begin — or don't. No instruction reaches that moment.
Music does.
One journey, eleven tracks
So I wrote the journey itself into music. Not a collection of songs — one story, in order, from the first quiet pull toward change to the day the path and the person are no longer two different things.
Before The First Step — the calling
Awaken The Warrior — the decision
The Weight Of Beginning — the struggle
Walk What You Know — discipline
One More Day — consistency
The Fire of Repetition — flow
Strong In The Storm — resilience
Stand. And the World Aligns. — presence
The Quiet Leader — leadership
The Warrior's Legacy — legacy
The Path Becomes You — transformation
If you've ever started something and stopped, track three will feel familiar. Nobody warns you that the start is the heaviest part. And track five is the whole secret of everyone I've ever seen transform, compressed into one title: not a heroic comeback, just one more day.
What this music is for
I use it three ways, and I built it for all three.
Training. The drums carry a session — stances, stretching, conditioning, the repetitions where your head starts negotiating with you.
Focus. Cinematic without chaos: early mornings, deep work, the hour before something difficult.
The low days. Some days you don't need more information. You need fuel. That's not weakness — after a lifetime of training, I still reach for it.
Hear it for yourself
The full album is eleven tracks, high-quality MP3, yours forever — no subscription, no app. It lives here:
The Warrior's Path — the full album
And if you'd rather listen before deciding, I understand that too. I'm giving away track two — Awaken The Warrior, the anthem of the decision — in full:
Play it loud. Preferably on a morning you'd rather stay in bed. That's the moment it was written for.
Train well.
